Hull City are planning to send Jack Leckie

Hull City intends to loan out a defender again, indicating their desire to offer the player more opportunities for playing time and development, as well as potentially managing their squad and finances more effectively.

The Team are planning to send Jack Leckie back on loan to Farsley Celtic before the end of the season, as detailed on their official club website.

The Football Club had to recall the young player from his time in non-league due to an injury requiring treatment. Leckie, aged 20, had embarked on a temporary deal with Farsley Celtic last summer and participated in six matches for them earlier this season in the National League North.

The Tigers have confirmed he is poised to head back to the West Yorkshire outfit at some point.

Hull City loan plan

Sending Leckie back to Farsley Celtic could be a savvy decision by Hull, especially since the team is now led by former Tiger Clayton Donaldson. The center-back was initially allowed to join the sixth-tier team last August to gain valuable experience.

He was on the books at Newcastle United from 2007 to 2020 and rose up through the academy ranks of the North East club, representing the Toon Army at various different youth levels.

Leckie later moved to another Premier League club, Burnley, four years ago, where he spent two seasons at Turf Moor. In 2022, Hull approached him, and since then, he has been a consistent presence for the Championship team’s Under-21 squad.

The Newcastle-born man is out of contract at the end of this term and the Tigers have a decision to make on his long-term future.

In the meantime, he will be keen to get back up to full fitness before potentially getting a string of matches at Farsley before the summer.

Hull City now have a two-week hiatus from matches and will be traveling to Turkey for a training camp. Following their return, they are scheduled to face Stoke City at home, followed by an away fixture against Leeds United.
